Ukraine & Moms
“(W)omen and girls in conflict situations were forced to endure brutal incidents of sexual violence, had fewer resources for protection and survival, lost their loved ones and had to take responsibility for their families, were forced to join the combatants, or to flee leaving everything behind. “
The Rise Up community came together this Mother’s Day for Ukrainian moms and children.
Although many families served by Mission to Ukraine have been able to evacuate, hundreds of families have either not been able to leave or have chosen to stay.
Together, we sent $2,500 to Mission to Ukraine* to help moms and their children by providing food, medicine, diapers, and spiritual encouragement as the war rages. This amount will provide for 10 families of 4 for 1 month.
100% of the donations we receive will go directly to Ukraine.
*Mission to Ukraine (MTU) is headquartered in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, serving some of the most overlooked and marginalized people. MTU meets the pressing needs of single mothers and their babies and provides therapeutic and support services for children with special needs and their families.
