Women Leaders Continue Their Journey in Uganda
In June, the 40 women who are a part of our 3-year leadership development program gathered in Iganga, Uganda, for another week of discipleship and leadership training. Throughout the week, participants studied the final books of the Old Testament, the Gospels, Acts, and several of Paul's letters, deepening their understanding of Scripture and strengthening their ability to lead within their churches and communities.
The impact of the training was evident in the stories the women shared.
One participant reflected, "I have learned that Jesus came to serve, not to be served. As a leader, I am called to serve others and trust God to help me overcome." Another shared that for the first time she truly understands how to read and study the Bible, saying, "Now I enjoy reading it." Women also spoke about discovering that their calling comes directly from God, growing in obedience, becoming more compassionate leaders, and finding renewed confidence to teach others in their churches.
By the end of the week, the women asked if future trainings could be extended because they were eager for even more time in God's Word. Their hunger to learn and grow is a powerful reminder that lasting transformation happens when women are equipped with biblical truth and encouraged to lead others.
