Trauma Healing Alongside the WLTI

In July, we spent two weeks alongside the Northern and Eastern Regional WLTIs (Women’s Leadership Training Initiatives) as the group of 100 women dove deep into the session on Trauma Awareness and Healing.

The Trainers of Trainers (TOTs) facilitated this 4-day workshop in each region while we coached them and cheered them on as they unpacked this topic.

Going into this conference, we were keenly aware of how intense the topic of trauma would be since the women are survivors of the genocide. We noticed women becoming comfortable enough to share parts of their stories daily. Little by little, we watched God lift some of the weight of the pain and suffering experienced.

The TOTs did an incredible job facilitating such a complex subject. Their vulnerability opened the door for so many to experience the same healing they received when they were WLTI participants.

We stood amazed as the countenance of the women began to change and we heard testimonies of healing and transformation.

Listen as Corinne explains in 2 minutes what we have been doing over the last few weeks and how it’s making a difference in the lives of those who are a part of the WLTI program.
