Stories of Strength & New Beginnings

Across Baringo and Kajiado (Kenya), something beautiful is unfolding — girls are discovering their worth, women are regaining stability, and leaders are growing confident in their calling. These recent field updates show the powerful ripple effect of consistent discipleship, practical support, and walking closely with communities.

Dignify the Girl – Baringo South

In August 2025, the Dignify the Girl program gathered girls in Iti and Eldume for life-giving sessions focused on identity, faith, and purpose.

In Iti, 107 girls came together for a one-day session centered on Living Out Your Purpose. Through Scripture-based teaching and thoughtful discussion, the girls explored questions like “Why am I here?” and “What does it mean to live with purpose?” while also engaging in career guidance and personal development.

In Eldume, the two-day seminar welcomed 54 girls on day one and 70 on day two. Topics included self-esteem, time management, coping with emotions, healthy sexuality, the effects of FGM, and trusting God’s guidance. The sessions concluded with teaching on forming a relationship with Jesus and time spent in prayer.

Dignify the Girls Scholarship Fund

What began as a prayer for a struggling mother and her daughter has grown into a structured scholarship program restoring access to education for vulnerable girls.

In August 2025, 12 girls were accepted into the scholarship program. Elyon provided suitcases, stationery, and personal items, along with the first semester tuition for four girls!

Priority is given to total orphans, girls from highly vulnerable households, and those raised by single mothers. This fund is not just easing financial pressure — it is opening doors that once felt permanently closed.

Resilience & Livelihood – Nosooricho, Marigat

In Nosooricho, 39 displaced women have been rebuilding after being forced from their homes by flooding from Lake Baringo. Living on temporary land, these women participated in trauma healing and business training as they prepared to reestablish their livelihoods.

On 25 September 2025, women received goats and income-generating tools, choosing mostly improved indigenous goats due to their resilience in the local climate. Others began small businesses in tailoring, farming, poultry, and kiosks.

One tailor joyfully shared that she now feels equipped to provide school uniforms for the upcoming term for her child — a powerful sign of renewed stability and confidence. Support for perishable-goods businesses is being distributed in phases to help women steadily grow and diversify their stock, with ongoing monitoring and home visits ensuring sustainability.

Judea Initiative – Women Rising in Leadership

Through the Judea Initiative, Elyon continues equipping women leaders in Kajiado with confidence, biblical depth, and boldness in ministry.

August Training (Tinga): 61 women

  • Teaching included Ephesians 1, spiritual gifts, Scripture interpretation, and women in ministry.

  • When pastors stepped out at the women’s request, participation flourished and honest dialogue deepened.

October–November Training (Embolei Baptist Church): 118 women

  • Focused on John 10, discerning God’s voice, the grand narrative of Scripture, and understanding spiritual gifts.

  • Women expressed joy at being taught by fellow women and encouraged to step confidently into leadership and service.

These gatherings continue to nurture strong foundations of faith and discipleship, creating safe spaces where women are empowered to lead with clarity and courage.

In Every Story…

From classrooms to church benches, from sewing machines to small goats held with pride — the transformation happening in these communities is tangible. Girls are finding their voice. Women are reclaiming dignity. Leaders are stepping forward with renewed confidence.

And it’s happening because people choose to show up, believe, and invest in the lives of others.
