Sleeping Giants – Women Rising in Uganda

In May, Rise Up Woman International returned to Uganda for a powerful time of leadership training and healing. Hosted in partnership with our field partner Equip and Send Ministries, the training gathered over 40 women—pastors’ wives, teachers, young leaders, and single mothers — for four transformational days of teaching, worship, and community.

From the very first session, the atmosphere was filled with expectation. Our field partner said, “Women are like sleeping giants” – powerful people! But they must be equipped to rise. That’s exactly what this time was about: awakening the God-given potential in every woman.

Together, we explored biblical stories of courageous women like Esther, Hagar, and Sarah, reminding each participant of her purpose and worth. We dove deep into spiritual resilience and the unique leadership roles women are called to play in their communities and churches.

The testimonies have been deeply moving. One participant shared, “From these trainings, I have learned how to walk with God and raise my children as a single mother.”

These women are going home changed—with new vision, new tools, and a renewed sense of calling. They are not just recipients of training—they are leaders being launched into purpose.

We are incredibly grateful to our local partners and friends who made this possible, and to each of you who supports this mission. The seeds planted in Uganda will bear fruit for generations.
