New Skills, New Confidence, New Opportunities

Just two months after launching the Humura Mugore Sewing Project, the impact is already visible.

With support from Rise Up Woman International and our field partner, ALARM-Rwanda, 21 women—primarily single mothers, young women, and those from vulnerable families—are learning practical tailoring skills that are creating new opportunities for themselves and their communities.

What began as a vocational training program is quickly becoming a pathway to self-reliance. During a recent visit, the women proudly showcased the dresses, skirts, and hoodies they have learned to make in just a short time. Even more exciting, many have already begun sewing clothing for their own families, serving customers in their local communities, and teaching the skills they've learned to others.

For many participants, this training represents far more than learning to sew. It offers the opportunity to earn an income, provide for their children, and build a more stable future with dignity and confidence. As their skills continue to grow, so does their ability to support themselves and become a source of hope for others around them.
