Field Partner Follow-Up
On February 15, 2025, our Kenyan field partners conducted a follow-up visit with 35 women from eight vibrant churches in the Kenyawa region. The aim was to celebrate the remarkable progress made through the Women’s Leadership Training, hear about the challenges the women face, and brainstorm ways to keep the momentum going.
The energy in the room was palpable as the women shared their inspiring experiences. Many of the first-generation trainees have been actively applying what they've learned, with some even teaching others in their churches! The most impactful sessions have been on trauma healing and community transformation, which have deeply resonated with the women and the community at large.
Despite some challenges—like high illiteracy rates, demanding daily responsibilities, and a lack of support from some spouses—the women remain determined and enthusiastic. They have found creative ways to continue learning and sharing the teachings, such as meeting monthly to encourage each other and gathering in smaller groups for discussion. The feedback from the women was overwhelmingly positive, expressing their gratitude for the transformative power of the Women’s Leadership Training. To build on this success, there are recommendations to expand literacy programs, include male pastors in future trainings, and provide additional workshops for youth empowerment. The follow-up was filled with hope, joy, and a deep sense of gratitude for the incredible impact this project is having on the Kenyawa region.
