Bringing Hope & Healing to Displaced Women
Rise Up, in partnership with Elyon, is expanding its efforts in Baringo South Sub-county, particularly focusing on the displaced residents of Noosoricho in Marigat Ward, where vulnerable households, displaced by the overflow of Lake Baringo, are living in temporary settlements. In 2025, Elyon aims to support 30 vulnerable women through trauma awareness and recovery sessions to help them heal and prepare for dignified income-generating activities.
In February, Elyon visited the area and met with residents, including pastors and a retired schoolteacher who had lost everything to the floods. The goal is to empower these women socially, spiritually, and economically, starting with a stress management and trauma healing seminar in March. Plans also include follow-up sessions, and in May, a children’s trauma healing workshop will be held. Elyon is committed to seeing these women thrive, contributing to spiritual growth, community support, and the flourishing of the church in this temporary settlement.
