An Update From the Farm

This community is being transformed one piglet at a time! The pigs in the Burera Farm initiative are multiplying!

As we walked through the community, local farmers talked about the impact these pigs are making. When a mature pig gives birth, the impact is multiplied as one piglet is given to another community member, one piglet is given back to support the project, and the ones they keep create organic compost to enhance their farming or are sold to generate income.

In January, we visited the Burera Farm Initiative. Michelle, the agronomist, shared how this Rise Up initiative brings hope and help to the community through planting and harvesting organic produce and breeding pigs. It’s incredible to see communities experience healing and hope by working alongside one another!
