A Sustainable Cycle of Empowerment

During our journey through Northern Rwanda, our Rise Up team of six had the incredible opportunity to visit the Burera Farm Initiative—a thriving project made possible through our partnership with ALARM-Rwanda.

On the farm, we met Michelle, the dedicated agronomist and project lead, who walked us through the latest progress. We were thrilled to see the newest piglets and were even more excited to celebrate the passing forward of 10 piglets to 10 new households!

But the impact doesn’t stop there. As these piglets grow and reproduce, their offspring will continue to expand the initiative’s reach. Each farmer commits to passing forward two piglets to other community members while returning one to ALARM-Rwanda, creating a sustainable cycle of empowerment and growth.
